1. Overview

FIRE Planner is designed to help users read their retirement path in a clear, product-like interface while avoiding unnecessary dependence on complicated workflows.

This page explains how the app approaches planning data, personalization settings, import and export behavior, and the boundaries around its outputs.

2. Local planning data

Core retirement planning inputs — such as age, income, expenses, current assets, return assumptions, inflation assumptions, and saved scenarios — are structured around a local planning experience.

The app does not require account creation as the basis for using its core planning flow.

Design principlePlanning data should feel like something users can maintain over time, not like a disposable calculation session.

3. Preferences and display

The app supports language, currency, theme, and compact amount display choices so users can read information in a way that fits their habits.

These settings improve presentation and readability; they do not change the user’s ownership of planning information.

4. Import and export

Users can export profile and plan data, and import it again later to continue an existing planning history.

Before a reset, migration, or major revision, exporting a backup is recommended.

Recommended orderExport first, then make major changes; after importing, review age, income, expenses, return rate, and inflation assumptions again.

  • Estimated retirement age, FIRE target, depletion timing, and chart outputs are model results rather than promises of returns or real-world outcomes.
  • Forecasts depend on user inputs and fixed assumptions such as income, expenses, annual return, and inflation; actual outcomes can differ materially.
